UK angler Dales final day of his fishing holiday saw the angler once again fishing from the public bank at Bungsamran Lake.

With large fish showing right across the lake the angler wasted no time in casting out large balls of method mix.

After only a matter of minutes Dale was into the first fish of the day which was soon brought to the net revealing a small Mekong Catfish of an estimated 20kg’s.

Further casts produced more Mekong Catfish of a similar size before sport began to slow down.

After a brief lull in action one of the rods was almost pulled into the lake as a ferocious take heralded the beginning of an epic battle.

On this occasion the fish stayed very deep and continually pulled line from the tightened spool of the reel.
The angler continued to pile on the pressure turning the fish on several occasions as it powered across the lake.

After fighting the unseen monster fish for over thirty minutes a massive Mekong Catfish surfaced several yards out in the lake.

The giant Mekong Catfish continued to charge up and down the margins trying to gain the sanctuary of the underwater snags.

With one last burst of power the fish surfaced once again to be expertly netted by Nok.
The monster Mekong Catfish was too large for the net and required the use of an extra net to safely remove it form the water.

On hoisting the giant Mekong Catfish onto the unhooking mat the fish was estimated to weigh 45-50kg’s and proudly displayed by the captor.

After releasing the Mekong Catfish the angler continued fishing catching several further Mekong Catfish and Striped Catfish to an estimated 25kg’s.
