The second day of Dales visit to Bungsamran Lake saw the angler once again fishing on the public bank.

Fishing to a nearby marginal area the angler quietly lobbed his baited feeders onto the prebaited area and awaited further developments.

Dale landed a few small Striped Catfish of an estimated 6-8kg’s before the swim became quiet.
Constant baiting of the spot soon saw increased activity in the swim as large bubbles began to surface over the baited area.

Several minutes later the rod burst into life as line began to stream from the open spool of the reel.
On closing the bail arm the fish charged along the margins closely hugging the fishing platform and causing the angler to apply heavy side strain.

After coaxing the fish away from the fishing platform the fish moved rapidly into open water creating large vortices ten yards from the bank.

The fish continued to charge up and down the margins dangerously close to the fishing platform in an attempt to evade capture.

Constant pressure placed on the fish soon took its toll and the fish broke the surface revealing a beautiful Giant Siamese Carp.

The Giant Carp was quickly netted and hoisted onto the bank to reveal of beautifully proportioned fish of an estimated 20kg’s.

Dale fished for the remainder of the day and caught more Striped and Mekong Catfish to an estimated 22kg’s.
At the end of the days angling the UK angler had amassed another double figure haul topped by his first Giant Siamese Carp.
