   Carp, Silver. (Hypophthalmichthys spp.) Max weight 16 kg/ 35lb 4oz. Omnivorous.
The Silver Carp is native to the lowland rivers and lakes of China. The Silver Carp can be found in the Amur, Yangtze and Hwang Ho River systems and has been exported worldwide as far a field as Europe. The fish is covered in small silver scales and has a small mouth with a slightly protruding lower lip. The lateral line is clearly visible on this streamlined carp species which displays dull red colouration on its fins and tail.
