Bungsamran Lake Bangkok Catfish trip. – 07 08 2014
Mike from the US started his Thailand fishing holiday with a visit to Bungsamran Lake in Bangkok.
On arrival at the lake the angler was soon casting out large balls of groundbait towards the hordes of showing fish.
Mike caught fish straight from the off landing a succession of small Mekong Catfish ranging in weight from 10-25kg’s.
Action was thick and fast throughout the morning keeping the angler busy with lots more Catfish.
After a short break for lunch Mike continued fishing and was soon back into the Catfish with several more smallish catfish added to his account.
A high speed take saw the angler once again attached to another Mekong Catfish but this time the fish stayed deep throughout the majority of the battle.
The battle with the fish lasted almost fifteen minutes before a large Mekong Catfish surfaced close to the fishing platform.
The guide quickly scooped the catfish into the net before hoisting it onto the fishing platform.
The Mekong Catfish was estimated to weigh 40kgs and was released after a few trophy shots.
Mike’s day fishing at Bungsamran saw the anger land over ten hard fighting catfish topped by a 40kg beauty.
