Predator Fishing Cha Am Thailand – 06 01 2015
European angler Martin continued his Thailand fishing holiday predator fishing at Cha Am fishing park.
Martin began fishing with one rod for the predators baited with mackerel sections.
With predators topping all round the lake the angler stealthily cast a bait along the nearby margins.
The angler waited patiently for twenty minutes before a slow but determined take broke the silence.
The unseen predator charged off towards the central part of the lake staying deep.
A ten minute battle followed which saw a powerful Redtail Catfish finally being netted.
The Redtail Catfish was estimated to weigh 25kg and released after photography.
After a lull in action no doubt caused by the capture of the Redtail Catfish a high speed take saw the angler attached to a bigger predator.
A large bow wave appeared out in the lake followed by a large crash as an Arapaima thrashed angrily out in the lake.
A fifteen minute battle followed which saw the Arapaima charging around the lake.
On finally netting the Arapaima it was quickly allowed a period for recovery before being released.
The Arapaima was estimated to weigh 45kg.
Martin landed several further predators during the course of the days fishing at Cha Am with Alligator Gar and a bonus Barramundi falling for his baiting approach
